How to Make Salesforce Better

Changing your login for a personal user on Salesforce

In Salesforce, you may need to assume another user’s identity in several situations. As luck would have it, this is easy to do on a computer. Here’s what you do in particular:

  1. On the “Home” tab, the settings cog is in the top right corner. “Setup” will show up as a menu.
  2. Click the “Security” tab on the left.
  3. Just select on “Login Access Policies.”
  4. Check this box in the “Settings” box to let administrators login in as any user.
  5. Enter “users” in the search bar to see a full list of all the people who have visited your Salesforce account.
  6. Next to each user’s name, there should be a blue “Login” option.
  7. When you enter your credentials and click “Login,” you’ll be taken to that person’s personal Salesforce profile.

Administrators can only get into user accounts that are still being used. Accounts that have been closed can’t be used. If a system administrator logs out of the user’s history, they will be shut down. When the administrator logs in, all other users who are using the system at the same time will be logged out automatically. If you are in charge of the system, you should never use your own account.

The Salesforce mobile app is different from how the service works in a browser or on a computer. In general, there is no way to assume on the identity of another user with the Salesforce mobile app. There is, however, a way to get around this on your iPhone.

  1. If you and the other user use the “Classic” or “Lightning” version, the method will be a little different. Both will play a part in what comes next.
  2. Log in to Salesforce using your login, and if you’re using the “Lightning” version, click the “View” menu and switch to “Classic.” If you are using the “Classic” format, you can skip this step.
  3. Log your current session, and then open the SalesForce app on your iPhone.
  4. Please log in to access Salesforce. If you’re on a desktop and get a message telling you to switch to the mobile app, click “Go to the full site.”
  5. Select the Icon Profile from the “Menu” tab.
  6. Go to Settings in your account.
  7. Choose the User you want to log in as.
  8. If you have a “Lightning” account and a mobile version, the Salesforce mobile app will launch.
  9. If you want to access your “Classic” account from a desktop browser, you’ll need to switch it to the mobile app version. Add “home/home.JSP” to the end of the URL and remove “one/one.app” from the beginning. You can load the “Lightning” app onto your mobile.

People with iPhones can now use their phones to get to their page.

How to access Salesforce from another Android device

Android users can also pretend to be another user by using their mobile browser. To use the workaround for mobile browsers, you need to do these steps.

  1. You should use the “Lightning” version to log in to Salesforce on your PC and then switch to the “Classic” view. If you are using the “Classic” format, you can skip this step.
  2. Exit your session and launch “SalesForce” on your Android device.
  3. Please log in to access Salesforce. If you are on a desktop and have the option to select to the mobile app, choose “Go to the full site.”
  4. In the upper left corner of the “Leads” tab, click on the Icon Profile.
  5. Go to Settings in your account.
  6. Choose the User you want to log in as.
  7. If you have a “Lightning” account and a mobile version, the Salesforce mobile app will launch.
  8. If you want to access your “Classic” account from a desktop browser, you’ll need to switch it to the mobile app version. Add “home/home.JSP” to the end of the URL and remove “one/one.app” from the beginning. You can load the “Lightning” app onto your mobile.

You can now use your Android mobile browser to access the mobile app version of Salesforce.

How Can Another User’s Login Be Used on an iPad in Salesforce?

Since Apple’s iOS is also used by the iPad, the method works for that device as well. Here are the steps you need to assume on your iPad to take on another user’s identity:

  1. You should use the “Lightning” version to log in your PC and then switch to the “Classic” view. If you are using the “Classic” format, you can skip this step.
  2. Before you can use on your iPad, you need to log out of your account.
  3. Please log in to access Salesforce. If you are on a desktop and are asked to switch to the mobile app, select “Go to the full site.”
  4. Choose the three vertical dots in the upper left corner of the “Home” tab.
  5. Select the “Account” option.
  6. Please select the “All Accounts” button.
